Education & Community
Training the next generation of symphony musicians in northeast Louisiana.
Established in 1973–74, the Youth Symphony has given young musicians a place to grow alongside the orchestra for half a century.
The Monroe Symphony Youth Orchestra brings together talented students from across the region, offering the experience of ensemble playing, mentorship from MSO musicians, and the discipline of performance. For many young players, the MSYO is a first step toward a lifetime in music.
For the past several seasons, the ensemble has been led by Mike Tabone and Natalie Tellifero, who guide its young musicians through rehearsal and performance.
Spring Finale · April 24, 2027
The 55th season closes with a landmark moment — musicians from the Monroe Symphony Orchestra and the Monroe Symphony Youth Orchestra come together for a collaborative performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, students and professionals sharing one stage.
Gifts to the orchestra help underwrite the Youth Orchestra and educational programming across northeast Louisiana.
